Track your subscriptions. Keep a text file, an Excel spreadsheet, or write it on dead trees. Just keep an eye on your list to make sure it doesn’t get out of control.
I’ve been feeling this same exhaustion for quite some time. Last year, I made a concerted effort to remove what John Roderick calls “eels”–those small things that attach themselves to your bank account and siphon money out slowly over time. When I made a full list of everything I was paying recurring monthly fees for, I was shocked. It can get out of hand quickly.
